What Veltax does
Every feature beyond the vault itself is optional, and asks for a permission only when you turn it on.
Voice notes, notes and tags
Record, write and organise inside the vault, so the things you keep private never pass through another app.
Passcode and biometrics
Lock the vault with a passcode, and unlock it with your fingerprint or face if you like. Veltax only ever learns whether it was you — never your biometrics.
Intruder capture
Turn it on, and Veltax takes a photo of whoever tries to get in with the wrong passcode.
Phone disguise
An optional screen that looks and works like a phone dialler, so the vault does not announce itself to someone glancing at your screen.
Shake to lock
Shake your phone and the vault locks at once. The motion is read on your device and goes nowhere.
Your data, plainly
Veltax is local-first. Here is what that means, and where its limits are.
On your device
- Your photos, videos, voice notes, notes and tags, in the app's private storage.
- Your passcode, stored only as a salted cryptographic hash.
- Your settings and intruder-capture photos.
- Vault content is left out of app backups where your phone supports it.
Not anywhere else
- No Veltax account, and no cloud sync or backup.
- Your vault is never uploaded to TensorActivity.
- Your vault, contacts and passcode are never given to advertisers.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Worth knowing: the current version does not encrypt each file itself. The passcode controls access through Veltax; protection of the files at rest also depends on your phone's own security and device encryption, so keep a screen lock on and your software up to date. Because nothing is in the cloud, deleting the app or resetting the vault removes your content for good. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, which processes some device and advertising data — the privacy policy has the detail.
